He wants to delay them for later that afternoon. He is still a senator and so is Obama. I think they should both go to Washington and work on this bailout issue. I am sure if you look and read what he said, it didn't say he wants to bypass the debate. Just suspend/delay to work on a much bigger issue. Last fall he did the same thing when I think the iraq war issues were being voted on. He stopped campaigning and went to DC to tie it up. (Granted also less critical of a time)
As far as his experience of economy, how many politicians do you honestly think truly know the economy? Do you think the president is the be all end all of everything government? Do you think Clinton KNEW everything? Of course not, this is what aides and such are for. It's who they surround themselves with that makes or breaks this economy / government.
Honestly I think most of the people on this board are letting their hatred for Bush/Iraq War cloud their judgment. Think a little bit and don't believe everything you see on tv

OK want to see a true debate? Think about this. Do you really think that the 700 Billion bailout package isn't pretty fucking serious to suspend (not cancel) 1 debate? Also considering both are Senators, don't you think you would see a much better debate on the floor with these two going head to head to show off their knowledge of the economy?
