Do You think Jay Leno Is Funny ? Here is what my friend Brian had to say about it. Would you agree ? I think he's right on the money

It is numb and safe, easy to sell, easy to digest and easy to forget. It's not really even suitable for kindergartners or the mentally handicapped. We are treated like soulless sub-animal house pets until we are old enough to drive or buy cigarettes. When we become consumers they pretend to give us an opinion. We are constantly shoveled milky mounds of unchallenging, moronic impotence disguised as entertainment, but really only designed to lower our standards and make us passive and content on being dumbed down. Why do we watch the things they give us on MTV or Jenny Jones or the 11 0clock news? We have been conditioned to have low expectations and our standards have become less than primitive. The illiterate apes that beat your ass in highschool for being a "fag" now sell you tuneless testosterone anthems of misogyny and pretend to be outsiders to a world that they were born to wear their ADIDASS-FILGERING uniforms in. And we buy it up, helplessly.

i would tend to agree. toned down and palatable. a sad excuse for johnny carson's old seat.

conan is much better.

Really ? I'm luke warm at best on Conan Obrian. I think Jimmy Kimmel is at the top and Carson daily is at the bottom and Conan Falls somewhere in between. Mildly amusing at best

tired of leno.. actually never really watched him much.. i was more a letterman fan. but LOVE Conan! i kinda wish Andy Ricktor would come back now as a side kick.. What the hell is Andy doing these days anyways?

I just hope Craig Kilbourn DOESN'T potentially take over Letterman's Job...

And though I don't really consider it in the same genre as Conan/Leno/Letterman, since it has come up in this thread, The Daily Show is my favorite on television.

Conan is the next Dave. He is the evolution of Dave anyway.

Jay says the most boring shit in the world. He is incredibly safe. old people watch him becasue he isnt edgy and everything is funnier when you are tired and you know old folks are damn tired at 11:30.

I think Stewart will replace Kilborn and get his ass kicked jsut because Conan is sooooo good.

I like Leno. Your friend probably listens to crappy music because he thinks it's cool. I don't like trendy crap for the most part (Britney Spears, reality TV, etc..) but *some* of it is not bad.

I don't find Leno funny as a host. Some of the skits may be funny but him, no. Conan & Letterman, on the other hand, are funny.

What you see is a shift in demographics.....

Jay Leno was a good solution to bridge the blue hairs who watched Johnny since he took the helm from Jack Parr...Leno was sanitized and worked for the blue hairs and was passable to Baby Boomers.

In 2009 the 20 30 and even to an extent the 40 somethings of the world will have been exposed to Conan the same way Dave was exposed.

It is a brilliant move on NBC's part to put him behind the wheel of the flagship show when he will be at his peak.

The flavor of humor has changed.....Conan is more hip and his humor will have a broad appeal....especially by 2009

He is ok on the show but standup is his real strength. I've seen him a few times and he is much better live and at an improv...

He does a couple shows a month at the Comedy and magic club in hermosa Beach....

And yeah he is a much better comic....but even Jay is getting old now....and his material seems a little Jack Benny

IMO, Bill Hicks' routine about Leno just about says it all...

Once upon a time, he was at least mildly amusing, and then he tamed down and started pitching Doritos. Now the funniest thing he does is read messed up headlines that are spoon fed to the show by its viewers (and half of those appear to be fake, anyway).
