Do you think 1gig of ram is enough for working with dreamweaver, photoshop, and other programs. Or do you think 2gigs of ram is a must?
How much RAM is enough for a PC?

1 gig is enough for the programs. But if you're going to have all 3 of those programs open at once, while you're editing some massive file in Photoshop, you're going to want 2.
If you aren't afraid of failing, you're not pushing hard enough.

If you have 1 gig, and never use all of it, then getting another gig will just be a waste as it won't be used anyway.
it's supply and demand.... get what you need.
Having an extra gig of ram that just sits there definitely won't speed up you pc at all.Comment

Really depends on what you do with photoshop, if you are shooting content and working with huge raw format files, you can't get enough, 2 gig would be a bare minimum...if you just work with jpgs, 1 gig is way enough.Comment

I'm quite happy with 1gb. 1.5/2gb if you wanna have em all open at the same time should do you nicely.Comment

"640k should be enough for anyone"SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.Comment

As was stated above, more than a gig if you are doing digital photography work in Photoshop. At the price of RAM, 1gb is fine. You might not need it all the time, but its going to help. You may consider something else like a HT processor if you are running PS and dreamweaver at the same time.Comment

The more memory you have when working with graphics, the better especially if you have more that one program running. Photoshop, imageready, your html editor, media player, etc. Have all these running at once and you'll be glad you have loads of memory.
Anything you can do to prevent paging out to your swap file will make thing run quicker and smoother.Comment

1 gig seems adequate for everything i do (no video editing or the like tho, only simple shit in photoshop) it'll chunk occassionally if i'm really workin it, so soon i'm gonna get some dual channeled 1gb dimms so i have a total of 2gb of dual channelled ddr

512MB is ok for what I do, but I don't do heavy video editing, and my PC is buggered anyway. I need to reboot every few hours if I'm doing mass photoshop processing just to clear the scratch disks. *sigh*
I think that's what it's called, anyway.email: [email protected]Comment
