I saw this thread last night, but I refrained from comment until now.
Way back in the first page or so, someone mentioned what sounds like really happened.
Cheshire, first, I totally understand and agree with your reaction to this. We have a webmistress for HGV too, and if anybody started creeping out on her, we ALL would jump his ass. I would be freaked out myself if I hadn't shared my name, and someone found it out and wouldn't tell me how they did it.
At least from the e-mails ive read here, and at mr. thumbs's website, I would say it looks like he was just trying to look suave, by having 'information' about you he found by reading your full e-mail header. I think he misunderstood how important it was for you to know how he got this information, and how it's important you remain anonymous. He should have respected that and answered right away.
I don't like to see everyone bashing Mr Thumbs here either, sure, it carried on way too far, but at least he never posted
her name here to the public (shows me he isn't malicious). I also think it was very cool of Cheshire to post a public apology for her misunderstanding of his intent (as a stalker). I still side with her on this one, and I also think that was probably the most 'adult' thing ive seen on this board yet. Rock on Cheshire.
This is pretty much resolved at this point, but I had to make my comments. I don't know if the server hack thing was a joke, but I really hope it was. Hey, if Mr thumbs hired a private investigator to get Cheshire's real name, or followed her home and looked at her mail or something creepy, I would have a totally different opinion, but at the same time he hasn't posted her name, and he did eventually tell everyone how he got it. I personally can't see why people are attacking him, he isn't pimpdog.
Must be pretty embarrassing for him too, seeing as though he was hitting on her, and now everybody knows. ; ) Not like there is a guy (or girl) on this board who doesn't think Cheshire is pretty.
