something serious is going on. something that can happen to any host.

As for his decision to switch, I see a person who wants hosting, dont know what his experience with his current host is, how long he has been down, or what his individual experience with tech support has been, so why not speak to them directly and see if you can work out something mutually beneficial.
Not everyone views downtime the same way, and not everyone gets the same level of satisfaction from a hosts service, depends on how much difficult the work you request is. Anyway just my

downtime is unavoidable, no matter who you host with. no host is immune to what happened tonight. who's to say this guy isn't going to switch hosts and experience the same thing at his new host in a week?
switching is understandable when the downtime is caused by the host, but it's wrong, rude and disloyal when it's caused by outside factors.
the host in question has one hell of an impressive track record with impeccable, unparalelled service.
liquidmoe, if you take on this customer, you better make sure you don't have downtime, because he'll obviously drop you in a heartbeat as well.

Speaking generally, there should be a lot more loyalty involved from webmasters when your host, sponsor, partner etc has a temporary setback. If you keep jumping around at the first sign of trouble, pretty soon there will be nowhere left to jump.
Likewise I know Hosting is extremely competitive but phatservers aren't exactly a fly by night operation and showing everyone that you will gladly take anothers customer while they are having problems is kicking them while they are down.Comment
