              I have been to more than my fair share of euro death/black metal gigs. It helps the both my last two bf's have been big metal boys.

                      Inflames fucking rocks. I just saw Dimmu Borgir at Ozzfest this summer in Columbus, Ohio. My cousin who is also an adult webmaster is a BIG BIG time expert on those European Death Metal bands, he's got 100's and 100's of CDs of that stuff.

                              was listening to a lot of In Flames and Dimmu Borgir earlier this year and lsitening to a lot of mayhem currently...

                                      In Flames are cool... earlier stuff by them I like a lot more though

                                      I like black metal myself ... Emperor, Burzum, Aeternus, Azaghal, Immortal, Darkthrone etc etc
                                      Finntroll/Moonsorrow/Amon Amarth rule too, as do many folk metal bands.

                                      European metal scene is great

                                          Agreed. I happened to see Hypocrisy last year, very very good. You don't see too many good bands like this in North America. Too bad some of the good ones are a little too racist.
