other than Tyler who started MM it's run by a volunteer bunch of Net Nazis consisting of hobbyist photographers who think they're the next Richard Avedon and delusional girls who think they are actually real models. Your approval is at the whim of those people.
Model Mayhem was bought recently by the company that owns VBulletin.

They had some huge number of users and they were running on a shared server for the longest time. I remember it was funny because it got hacked and the press release said something about another user on the same box stole the passwords. LOLComment

Been using them for years, never had an issue. But... I know what you mean about MANY porn people getting banned. Some simply have NO tact on there, and are flagged almost immediately.
They rank up there with DP for their bannings.
Everything else from the delusional girls, to the nazi's is correct. I will tell you that you can get a TON of interest from that site. However, most are flakes, and will never show. If they show, they think you are Maxim.
I personally think it gives you a bit of credability to people checking up on you. But I have more success from CL, MS, FB. Easily 100 to 1.Comment

Yeah I found the easiest way of getting approved more quickly was in having a pretty vague profile and pictures that aren't too scandelous to begin with. It still took a long time to get approved. So long, in fact, that I forgot I'd signed up for it, lol.
That being said, I've gotten lucky with them. Luckier actually than OMP or even Hardcore, which was surprising.Comment

Yeah Rev, if you go with an account. You can't have any "porn" pictures in your profile/portfolio. If they're naked they gotta be more artistic nude type shit. You'll get denied / flagged / banned pretty quick with porn.

MM is similar to OMP but probably a bit worse - MM has the cool factor going for it, MM girls think adult is tacky - just like OMP the response rate is pretty low, fake profiles
There are lots of adult industry models and pornstars on there but they don't mention their porn activities - I've seen well known hardcore porn girls on there with notices - NO NUDES - meanwhile they can be found all over the Net sucking cock. They're on there looking to do higher quality mainstream stuff.

For me, I also do not go around contacting girls trying to solicit them for porn. THEY contact ME. Same for CL, MS, FB and so on. I post the ad giving teaser, pointing to another site with more details. Then IF they contact me, I go more in detail.
Many say no fetish, nudes, and so on. But once they see you are paying cash, and shooting regularly. They will say they just say that for those who do not pay for gigs.
The key is you let them initiate, not you being a fucking greasy porn creep.

One more tip. This comes from feedback from the girls, and years of experience.
Have a fucking website (and/or blog professionally done), e-mail and business address, as well as business card. That will be the deal closer, or legitimizer for you a lot of times when you do your interviews.
A lot of the MM creeps do not have any of those, and the girls will tell you about how they think those people are NOT legit. Even if they are.
