By no means is this a lets get all pissy thread but I will give you a view from another perspective...
I am from a small town in Mid Michigan and will always be from there in my head..I have lived in Los Angeles for many years and have found myself in circles where contact with public figures happens often.
In many cases I think it has to do with sharing the experience of having been in the company of a media figure and on some occasions it is a bit surreal. I know it can be for me at times. I think people have different opinions on the subject of meeting public figues...and that is fine.
If it truly were no big deal what so ever than pop culture would not have such a huge emphasis on the repoirting of their lives, etc.
Obviously you and some others find it to be not only no big deal...but even annoying, to others its a unique experience and an experience they remeber the rest of their life...
I dont feel anybody is wrong just different in how they view the point
In Los Angeles it is very common and to some of us that will alwys live in that town nobody ever leaves in their head....it is a way of sharing the big city experience.
