I just bought an ATI all in wonder and a 2nd monitor. I thought I was spending a lot this week on my computer and I got bought for like $500. Now I feel like I should go ahead and buy something else, lol.SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.Comment

yeah, but this one is faster the the regular retails.Originally posted by evildick
Ahh, then that person made out like a bandit.
I'd rather pay less than $500 for one that did make it to retail.
thats why people were bidding up to $1k on it.Comment

(MUCH better than eVGA, btw.)
Core: 400MHz, Clock: 1.1GHz (Compared to your 450MHz/1.2GHz). With a heatsink like this you can easily overclock it to far beyond what you just paid over a grand for.

You can get it for $600 here:

Actually, if you look at some of the more recent benchmarks, the ATI X800 Platinum Edition is gaining ground on Nvidia's cards after a couple of driver updates.Originally posted by Shaddam IV

Just wait until Half Life 2 comes out, we'll see who has the better benchmarks

I don't think that you know much about video cards because if you did, you'd know that the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and the Radeon 9800 Pro whipped the floor with Nvidias cards when they came out, so they couldn't suck too bad.Originally posted by JSA Matt
ATI will always suck.
I'll admit that the current cards from both companies are pretty comparable, you couldn't go wrong either way. I used to be an Nvidia guy, but once the Radeon 9700 Pro came out, ATI won me over and now I have my ATI X800 Platinum Edition and I couldn't be happier.Comment

I know that someone is gonna bring up the ATI driver issues saying how they don't update their drivers. That was in the past and they surely learned their lesson. If you look at their website driver history, you'll see that they've been releasing new drivers almost monthly.Comment

You must have just wasted a bunch of money on an ATI card, i'm sorry...Originally posted by Slick

x800 platinum is expensive as fuck, and it still gets smoked by a simple geforce 6800 (not even ultra) in benchmarksOriginally posted by Slick
