You're giving a Russian plane as an example of poor safety on planes???? Well, maybe it wasn't a good idea afterall to use bubblegum in the welds to save money..
I've been to Russia, flew on their airline once. Let me tell you, I'd rather ride strapped to the front of an American plane any day. When we were ready for takeoff, our seats fell forward - you know like you adjust one in a car?? So they seat us in another one, that one is wobbly as hell.
It was the closest thing to a religious experience I've ever had.
