    i want to teach my mom how to use a computer..

    i just bought my mom a new i want her to learn how to type as well as use the internet..

    anyone know of any software/websites that help new computer users..

                  Yup, smart man, get her Symantec's Internet Security 2004 which has the AV software and a good firewall.

                  I would also get her Mavis Beacon teaches typing, I was able to teach my 70 something father how to type with that.

                  Also look into the Video Professor series of CD's that will teach her just about everything.

                          Don't do it! I bought my Mom a computer a couple of years ago and she called me a few times a day for months. I love my Mom, but it made me crazy. Now she's a geek though. I didn't even mention Mozilla to her but the other day I noticed her machine had Firefox on it. I asked her what was up with that and she replied "Microsoft sucks."
