A transatlantic flight was diverted and the singer Cat Stevens escorted off the plane by FBI agents who denied him entry to the US, it has emerged.
Security sources said the pop star, who converted to Islam, was on a security "watch list".
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said the singer was denied access to the US "on national security grounds" and would be returned to Britain on Wednesday.
Flight 919 from London to Washington diverted 600 miles to Bangor International Airport on Tuesday, landing at around 7.30pm British time, after US security officials were told Stevens was aboard.Comment

firstly, I don't know why but it always shocks me when people don't know names like his. He has a beautiful voice and has done some fantastic songs that everyone should know. I'm 27 so it is hardly like I am old enough to actually remember, it is just being culturaly aware.
Secondly, as liberal as I am it doesn't bother me that he was denied entry. His views are very well known and his activies are uncertain enough.Comment
