    This looks cool! I want one

    Sony kept secret on Tuesday about the detail of its own handheld game machine PSP, such as its price and launch date, but it unveiled a plan to launch a new version of its popular PlayStation 2

                                                  I wonder if the new PS2 will have the overheating problems of the big one considering it's in a much smaller space I would bet it would get worse. The new handheld is sweet as well only issue I see is battery life but I hope they can overcome that...

                                                                  I put it in my closet and let it dry out, and was scared to connect and turn it on until about a month after... No problems at all :-)

                                                                      You did not do anything, Sony has been known to have faulty laser readers. If you call customer support and talk to them they will be cool untill you say "disk read error" then they get monotone and tell you how to go about sending it to them, repair and sending back. The newest set of readers is better but the earlier PSX and PS2 are known to have issues. Used to have to go in and manually adjust the distance of the PSX reader from the disk.

                                                                          Probably. But this is new hardware inside that will run new games. Doesn't play the old PS1 and PS2 titles.

                                                                                                                                                                          however my brother is on his 3rd PS2 since I moved out and took mine with me

                                                                                                                                                                          so I dont know whats up with the 250$ ones, they work like shit, and the one my bros got now only plays games, cant play a dvd for shit,

                                                                                                                                                                          PS game cube and X box are trucking along fine, and so is the N64

                                                                                                                                                                                      I might have to pick one up because like some of you, mine has troubles reading certain games. I did have it since it was first released, so it did serve it's purpose.

                                                                                                                                                                                      One other nice thing about this new model is that it has BUILT IN ETHERNET !! Not like the old models that you had to buy that part separately.
