Oh that fucking quicktime is insideous.
Try this:
right-click on the movie link, go "save target as" and save it to your d/l files folder.
Next, go to your desktop, right-click on "my computer" then click "explore".
Windows Explorer will open up.
Find your downloaded files folder, find the movie file you just downloaded.
right-click on the movie file, then mouseover "open With" then click "CHOOSE PROGRAM"
Once the box appears with all your programs, find Winamp... but before you click "okay", there will be a little box just to the left that says "Always open this type of file with this program"... CHECK that box.
Then click "okay"... and not only will that movie play for you in Winamp, but every file you click on like it from then on will also open and play in Winamp.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

winamp opens it up all the time already...
MY PROB: lets say there is a link in a webpage that is an mp3
it stays within internet explorer and loads it thru quicktime to play it... instead of opening it up externally into winamp

because quicktime is set as the default player for that file type. just set winamp as the default playerComment

i went to windows explorer
did tools/ folder options
and made sure that .mp3 extension was still associated with winamp... IT IS!
but QUICKTIME is opening it up in IE to play

Simple. Instead of just clicking the link, RIGHT-click on the link and select "Open link in new window"
and it should open in Winamp.
And remember to disable that fucking quicktime after each use. Otherwise it insinuates itself as your computer's default player.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

Do you have a quicktime icon in your taskbar by the clock? Right click it and tell it to stfu..(forget the exact area, but somewhere in there you can tell it to not do things).
Try uninstalling quicktime. You can always reinstall it.
Try going to Start, Run, type msconfig, prevent quicktime from loading at startup.
I dunno.. try checking google for "quicktime playing mpg in explorer" maybe.. lots of ideas there, not sure which works, but food for thought.

Quiktime sucks fucking cock
But anyway
Open QuikTime > goto edit > edit quiktime preferences > click on mime settings > uncheck the MP3 box
Click Ok, then close.
You may have to go back into winamp and set it to open mp3 files again.
Should be good from there.Comment
