If I were an American, I would probably vote for Bush. Now I know some are going to say my thoughts don't count, since I am not American. Consider this. Our countries are not that different. You will find more similarities between Canada and America than differences. You may discount my opinion all you like based on my nationality.

Why would I vote for Bush?

1) On the Economy: I don't believe John Kerry is any more qualified to build the Economy than George Bush. I do believe that 9/11 and an economy already begining to decline contributed more to recession and job loss than George Bush did. I do believe tax cuts are working and will work. Point to Bush, in my mind, on this issue.

2) On Vietnam: John Kerry is proud of his two "tours" in Vietnam. I believe he did serve admirably and bravely. As far as I can tell it was 4 months, not two full tours. Of this I might be wrong. 4 months of combat does not a General make. Kerry was responsible for a small crew on a small boat. How does this qualify him to be commander in chief? Managers of McDonalds are responsible for more people. Granted no lives are at risk.

George Bush was able to get out of millitary service. Most probably because of his wealthy and powerful father's connections.

Neither of these experiences is particularily relevant to being President. Draw on this issue.

3) On personal politics: John Kerry is the most liberal member of the senate. 20 years of his voting record has established this. Tax and spend Democrats, like I believe Kerry to be, disturb me. Excess social progams do not build a stronger nation. It builds a nation of dependant people. More times than not the poor don't hold up their end of the bargain. Witness Bill Cosby's recent comments on African American Youth.

Don't want to be poor? Change your life. I was raised in squalor for a good portion of my childhood. My mother didn't one time accept Welfare. She worked her ass of, rasied her children and went to school at the same time. Today she's wealthy because of it. Social programs didn't help her.

In my mind, point again to Bush

4) On terrorism: I don't see how John Kerry will be any better. He does not project an image of strength to me. Bush's war on Terror has not been altogether succesful, but nothing indicates to me Kerry will be any better.

Recruiting for Terrorists may be up but I don't believe for a minute they wish the Bush administration to be re-elected. I think they're scared shitless. I do believe countries will think twice before setting up Afghanistan like terrorist camps.

Pretty much a draw in my mind.

5) On taxes: I don't belive the rich should shoulder any larger burden, as a percentage, than the poor. Flat tax rate would be my preference. You all pay the same percentage. You shouldn't pay more because you work harder and do better. Point to Bush here.

clinton had NOTHING to worry about, he sent a few battleships off the coast, launched a few cruise missles and went home. ANY president could have looked good in those 8 years. His contribution was maybe 30% in those times, the other 70% was a given for any president. I dont give him that much credit.
