Most of the time, I dress for comfort. It's going to be an uncomfortable trip, (no doubt in some form or another), and I want to at least be comfy in what I'm wearing.

You're a fool if you don't do it when going on business IMHO.

I can't count the number of times I went thru an airport and ran into a client or someone we were currently in RFP with.

Yeah - I'm thinking of taking it down a notch and not going with a full suit - just the pants & shirt & shoes - lay off the tie and blazer.

I always dress for comfort. If you are in a full on travel outfit, most people will see that you are the frequent flyer and master of the 30,000 foot domain. IMNSHO looking like you know what you're doing in the situation surpasses some stodgy guy in a suit.

I actually look down upon people in suits on planes. It's as if they are stuck wearing suits when they know they should be wearing something more comfortable.

But if you're that into it, Orvis has some pretty decent travel sportcoats. But everything I have ever actually touched from Orvis turned out to be crap - like these expensive sunglasses that showed up bent, or their shoes that have zero cushioning.
