    Just returned from format c:ing

    that was a wasted day...
    formatting can kill, it's always such a hazzle to get everything installed again...I just loathe that, I know some freaks who install XP once a week coz they think it got too slow... I do it once every decade roughly and it fucking sickens me anyways

      Ya I format once a year, but it still sucks... I have gotten good at it though so it doesn't take me long.

              I have my main hard drive partitioned into the operating system drive (C) and a smaller partition that contains all of the installation files for programs I install. After a download is installed it is moved there. A 2nd drive is where I store all of my documents. When it comes time to format only the C portion of the main drive is formatted and the installers are right there ready for me to start clicking down the line and install.

              Having everything there from the previous format reminds me to save things I might have forgotten, like password files, mail/settings, favorites and data files from various programs. It's just a matter of browsing to them and replacing them with more recent copies.
