Interesting thought. There are services out there that charge you to protect your sites against attacks as well as hosting companies that promote the fact that they protect their clients. Kinda makes one wonder if one of them wouldn't start ddos attacking large sites to drum up biz.
I'm sure I'm wrong though. No one would do something like that.

The bad news is that this is going to become more and more common. With viruses, adware, and spyware..... it will become easier to command a large amount of computers to provide such attacks. I have a college education in computers and I recently got hit with adware that I could not get rid of (format c. There are millions and millions of computer users out there that have no clue of what their computer is really doing.
