It's good to be back -- I just connected for the first time since the 25th and I came to GFY first!
Well probably nobody cares but I finally got a place in Florida... and I got my internet set up... DSL soon.
The drive from CA to FL was smooth -- EXCEPT for fucking (David) Crocket, Texas... Those fuckers gave me a ticket for going 80 in a 70 -- and I HAD TO SEE THE JUDGE because I had a Cali drivers license... Because CA and TX do not have a "reciprocity agreement" -- it was like I was in Mayberry -- the judge was actually an ok guy -- he even showed me his pocket pistol because he liked the key for my GTI, but I still got an $80 ticket!!! Anyway...
So I get to FL -- ahhh the ladies of UF -- am I too old for these cuties -- ummm no ;)
I searched for a week to find an small house or a room in some kind of victorian thing -- something with character... but I'm really picky -- and I don't like dealing w/ anal landlords -- Gainesville is WAY overbuilt -- everyone is renting -- you can get a two bedroom place for yourself for $425 here... I think the prices will come down even more once these fuckers realize that everyone is renting and there's nobody left to rent to ;) All these landlords have open places and they're telling me on the phone, "no I won't lower the price -- this place has been renting at this price for the last 3 years" -- I tell them ok fine goodbye -- they will all break down soon -- the prices are starting to fall already. The best time to come here is in the summer -- most of the students leave -- you can live here DIRT cheap -- the lardlords will give you complimentary BJ's -- I'm trying to save some money here so I went on a roomate matching system -- basically I have a huge 3 bedroom / 3 bath condo to myself for $440 until someone else moves into one of the other rooms -- which I think is pretty unlikely since school has started already and they still have other empty condos in this complex... Anyway I have the best bedroom in the condo -- all the rooms have vaulted ceilings -- the place has a pretty nice backyard -- washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc... Also there's a workout room and pool table and a pool for swimming laps that's always full of college cuties.
Anyway I'm not bragging or anything -- lots of people here make way more money than I do... I still like the house that I had here before better than this place -- for $1100/month I had my own house -- it was all brick, nice wood floors, two bedrooms, stone fireplace, garage, yard... and this was no cheapo house w/ a plastic bathtub like the shit the make these days... Anyway $1100 is too much for me to pay for rent now until I can get some more signups ;)
Probably nobody is listening but I got a new Nikon N65 -- I think my Minolta melted on my way over to Florida (probably while I was driving through the desert) because it wasn't working when I got to FL -- I had the equipment replacement plan from Best Buy -- brought it in and they gave me a BRAND NEW Nikon $400 -- worth $50 more than my old camera... Shit I am so happy ;) I actually miss my old baby but this Nikon is pimpin' ;)
