    Help with Adobe Premiere?

I have Adobe Premiere Pro set up with a DVD player hooked into the video port of my computer but when I try to capture video it tells me that the device is offline.. is there something special I need to do so that Premiere recognizes it?

    Thanks in advance ..

Premier has a different encoding than dvd's do... you have to rip the dvd first, then capture....
