Seat belt use in the US

...has hit 80% in comparison to Europes 90%. Is there anything meaningful that can be garnered from this info?

Yes, it means that they are not only better drivers, but smarter ones.

It is, for the most part, harder to get a license in Europe and requires more training.

Here, all you really have to do is past a written test that most clinical research monkeys would pass, and a road test that involves all the skills necessary to park in a semi crowded Walmart parking lot.

I wear my seatbelt 100% of the time also.

By the way, in Europe, are all drivers required to learn manual transmission?

It would be great if you only lost your life.

But imagine not dieing. Imagine the rest of your life sitting in a wheel chair having some nurse from a home feeding you and cleaning your ass once a day, If you are lucky.

That kind of thing kills a family and friends.

                            LOL.
Umm... you drive automatic in driving school? What's the point?

umm.. yeah, I guess if you have like 90% automatic transmission cars in the us..

I personally hate automatic cars, I drove one for a living. It's boring.
                            ..and I'm off.

People who don't wear seatbelts are pretty dumb. They might think its stupid but they would be surprised what can happen like for instance your body falling out of an open window. I always wear mine and anyone else who is serious about driving does the same.

I think the primary reason for the increase is more aggressive law enforcement. People don't want a ticket.

                                        same here.

when my parents first got married, my father had a head on colision with an 18 wheeler. he walked away because of his seatbelt. the pics he showed me were amazing.

                                        i wear mine always.

I remember when seat belts became the law. I hated it. Now I can't imagine driving without it.
