And not everyone, especially the poor, have transportation. The sick surely don't. Often those taking care of the sick won't leave them. (I wouldn't.) It's so much more complex than "why didn't they leave."

It's like the famous Sam Kineson joke about Ethopians during the drought "Move to where the food is." While there's some truth in that line, the fact is, 20 million poverish starving people can't do that.

And in this case, neither could a lot of people in New Orleans.
