    Fox NEWS...new orleanians are being contained...

    No one wants to say it...but that is exaclty what is happening.....they are stopping these people from leaving the city now.....

                                          It's a very good question. My thought is that no one knows what the fuck to do so they just keep everything status quo. I can't possibly think of another explanation for not letting people leave a death trap. Conspiracy theorists may say that this is a bit of ethnic cleansing.

When they got to the bus area near the superdome they went straight to the front of the line ahead of all the poor folks.

                                                      I heard that story too, but I also heard a story to day that a hotel (maybe that one) set up and paid 25k to get a few buses to come in and get their guests out. The National Guard didn't let the buses through and instead took them over to use at the dome.. So maybe that had something to do with this story.

                                                          theres probably several reasons for that. if the water is diseased, and the people there are infected, they're not gonna want the people to leave & spread it around to other americans. thats probably at least 1 reason.

                                                                                              It was a situation of their own making, the crowds in the superdome started going nuts about the posibility of tourists getting treated better/first so all the foreigners huddled together in a pack of about 60 so they wouldn't get picked off in the general population they were removed under armed guard to the Hyatt so they wouldn't be murdered if the crowd turned against them on masse. One of the few Aussies there had a gun pulled on him and was robbed.

                                                                                                  Cholera outbreaks are common in flood situations, and are notoriously difficult to contain. I suspect even after they're removed, a great number of the refugees will probably end up in little "bushvilles" (anyone here enough of a history buff to remember 'hoovervilles'?) where they can keep a lid on infectuous disease outbreaks and, presumably, try to figure out something to help these hundreds of thousands get back into living a life.

                                                                                                  Needless to say that the life of a refugee will be made marginally better by being in, say, a tent with daily water and MREs, but for many of the poor that will likely be bulk of their existance for a very, very long time.

Am I wrong for hating the murderers, rapist, and looters? I do not hate the innocent victims of these crimes or those that were physically unable to get out of the area.
