The Governor could have called out the National Guard days ago, too.
But she didn't. There are all kinds of Federal and non-Federal resources that either weren't deployed or were deployed in other places.

1) FEMA and the Guard are active all over LA, MS, and AL. And all we keep hearing about is New Orleans, because that's the place where the criminals are in charge.

2) New Orleans was already chaos and anarchy once the storm ended. It wasn't that days and days with no water drove them to it. We need to stop blaming the government and actually blame those who caused the violence.

3) If there wasn't an "armed resistance", the evacuations and supply deliveries would have started a lot earlier.

The lesson FEMA and Homeland Security have learned is to plan for a military invasion instead of a rescue/relief effort next time.

So, New Orleans will lead to a push for greater flexibility to declare martial law and deploy the regular military for combat within the US.

Here's hoping that our cities aren't designated for liberation any time soon.
