I know a section of the I-10 bridge washed out.. they showed on msnbc. It's in pensacola area I guess.. Looked like a huge chunk just missing

They said on CNN that some tractor trailer driver plunged off one of the washed away sections presumably to his demise. Shitty way to go.

It's Escambia Bay. And if my memory serves me correct that is the bridge that goes from Pensacola to Pensacola Beach.
My mom lives in Baldwin county which is just across the line in Alabama, in the Gulf Shores area. She told me all roads leading south into this area are closed until further notice. Her house is between the beach and the Intracoastal waterway, what we call the "back bay side". She thinks they should be allowed back in tomorrow... but there is no power in Baldwin county from what she has been told.
If there is anyone on this area with updates... pass them along.

My Mom evacuated here from panama City and her neighbors called her this morning. Her house is OK but there has been no power since yesterday afternoon.

Thanks B, They are all ok, but we don't know about the material stuff so far. My Mom went through her yard and picked up everything that could be a projectile
( those crazy yard gnomes
) before she was forced to leave. I am sure everything will be ok. My family has lived in this area forever, so we know how to rebuild!
Here's a funny... my Mom's boyfriend's son-in-law built a chicken coop. They live in Pensacola. The coop made it just fine, but it's underwater and in the neighbor's yard! The chickens found their way to the garage and are ok too.Comment

Yeh, that's part of Interstate 10 which is a major major roadway.
