Updated model (as of 10 minutes ago) indicates landfall to be between Gulfport Mississippi and just west of Mobile Bay, Alabama between midnight and 3 am, EST, (11-2a local time).
The outer bands have already begun to come ashore. New Orleans is expected to see between 10 and 15 inches of rain with winds gusting up to 105mph. However, the major part of the storm will be in and around the areas of Gulfport, Mobile, and Appalachicola.
The system will move northward, taking a turn to the east as it comes ashore. Forecasts and models indicate that it will still be a very strong storm when it hits middle/east Tennessee, where it is expected to stall, which could bring flooding from torrential rains from the Nashville/Davidson county area all the way to the Carolinas.
This looks ugly. I hope everyone gets through okay.
