Fuck yeah, Yan, it's been an amazing summer but I am ready to hit the slopes.

you know sad thing is, I just spent half the summer on the east coast visiting family. I'm hoping to squeeze a little wakeboarding, camping and kayaking in before it gets too cold!
but....i'm freaking jonesing for some riding too, hopefully we have a kickass season again. where do you ride? i kinda stick to south shore but i'd love to re-visit some of the north shore resorts, it's been 2 years and it's always fun to "get outa town" a little!

I also do quite a bit of freelance work for a mainstream company in Santa Barbara as well as a few small local companies.
We should definitely get together and ride this winter, like you, I mostly stick to my local (lol North Lake) resorts, but it's high-time I get my ass down to Heavenly and try out the new terrain that I've been hearing about.
So looks like we are the only two webmasters on here who actually LIVE in Tahoe, although like you said I'm sure a lot of webmasters come up here in the winter for the skiing. Would be great to do a get-together one of these months

Hell yeah, open the chuuuutes... I usually get a season pass to mt. rose, but I might upgrade this year and try to get one to alpine or squaw. My favorite resorts in order...
1. Squaw
2. Alpine
3. Northstar
4. Sugarbowl
5. Boreal (cheap! night boarding!)
6. Mt. Rose (its really close)
7. Homewood (old school)
8. Diamond Peak
....
54. Heavenly

Homewood is definitely a good call. Get a pass for $200 and still be skiing powder 3 days after a storm

Yup, I've been hitting the Tahoe resorts for about a decade. Started out in college when Tahoe was the center of the birth of snowboarding and the ultimate hipster scene. I used to go to Boreal every night after classes for the night boarding... dangerous conditions to learn on, but I was hooked. Recently I've been getting the $200 pass to Rose just because its so cheap (actually, I think its $300 now). I mostly go to Squaw/Alpine, but Homewood calls my name several times a year as well. Squaw's so fuckin' expensive though, if I didn't have "access" to cheap or free passes I would go there as often ;)Originally posted by skinnywussy

I don't know if you guys know about the gold pass but it's a great pass if you like to ski different resorts all the time. $1800 gets you a ticket a day at any of the resorts plus mammoth and all other cali resorts.
