Its a system thats worked sufficiently for hundreds of years. Personally I think the parliament act should be invoked in times of national emergency like terrorist attacks, not for poxy foxhunting.

well, if it worked or not depends on what side of those issues you have been on. For me personally, it was needed more with age of consent as to me that was a civil liberty issue. Fox hunting I disagree with but don't see as important an issue as age of consent or the repeal of section 28
There are sooo many more important priorities & its galling that this is just about getting backbench support. I really think invoking the parliament act for something as trivial as this is a sad day for the country.

I am really quite indifferent with regard to foxhunting, however I can say that I have listened to both sides of the argument.
In fact if I go with my heart I would say that I am anti-foxhunting & wouldnt be overly sad to see it passed as at the end of the day its cruel. If I go with my head then I would say that this is going to have a devastating effect on foxes....
Which is the lesser of two evils? Who knows... but to use the Parliament Act on something that is exceptionally trivial just because they cant get their own way stinks of shit.

but i do think the parliment act will force through something that the vast majority of people want. surely that is a good thing
