There were civilizations and cultures in africa thousands of years before anyone discovered the americas. There were black nations ruling and thriving, the zulus and so forth. Apparently shit just went wrong somewhere along the line. I doubt the (black)race can be blamed for the current situation. I really do not think the race on it's own is the cause to anything. Possibly the conditions changed dramatically within the last 200 years, when west discovered steam engine, electricity etc.. the africans did not, it was the dark continent..the place to get free workers, not a place to share your inventions with.
