"My Super Sweet 16"...jesus..
I'm not at all a reality show fan(i catch one every once in a while to observe the extreme stupidity displayed in these shows until i start getting a headache from the characters' ignorance). But i'm home sick, with a high fever, unable to get much work done somewhat bored, so i'm surfing channels and catch the intro of "My Super Sweet 16" on MTV. First impression from the title, the diamond studded fonts used, etc.: It's another reality show about some superdumb rich spoiled brat....nothing wrong with being rich AT ALL, but watching a DUMB spoiled brat is annoying...
The plot is as follows: Some spoiled brat turns 16 and her parents throw a "sweet 16" party for her.
So, I watch, interested in how dumb a spoiled 16 year old can get. I force myself to watch 70% of the show...then i start getting a headache..
My godddddddddddddddddddddd! i realized, this is the show that CANNOT be topped...it's a fine example of how parents totally fuck up their kids' entire future...I've seen it happen to lots of friends...
Parents give them EVERYTHING, spoil them without teaching them to have their values and priorities right, then at a certain age they get sick of their kids still leeching off of them...and they cut off everything! parenting at its best...
I realize most of such shows are scripted, but young teens watching MAY NOT....to create something so horribly stupid that totally screws up the values of the targetted age group...is extremely irresponsible.
Some might say 'HYPOCRITE'...don't...because we're selling porn to CONSENTING ADULTS...and there's a huuuuuuge difference.
I think the more extreme these shows get in idiocy the harder they make parents' jobs...
