You should just make light of the situation and just accept their criticism light heartedly. Most people on here have already had the opportunity of working with you and your program and they speak highly of you....so care cares about the guys that complain. Just ignore them....stand your ground...and avoid any negativity.

                        Here are my stats, I only send a small amount of traffic.

                        First I hunted back to my last sale, which was in April:

                        Apr 1 2004 to current
                        1 sale
                        1:3138

                        Now all time:
                        3 sales
                        1:1535

                        What am I doing wrong? That traffic comes from hosted gals and a text link.

                        edit: if it helps there were only 304 join page hits. I don't know if that sort of raw:join ratio is typical.

                                We see an average of 20-25% to join page.
                                On TGP traffic you're going to get much different results than SE guys. Your traffic is expecting everything to be free, and when they see the price tag, they may get a bit excited.

                                All I can suggest is that we look at your site, and figure out what we can do to help conversions. hange some of the text, maybe add a price right on the text link. There's a hundred things we can do. If you want to give it a shot again, myself or Brian can give you a hand.

                                        Didn't read all the posts.. it ends up just being blah blah blah blah...

                                        I put up a banner the other day, got a sale after about 80 raw hits, nothing since and am at about 430 raws. I added some text and a few more ads on the site. That's nothing. At 75 a payout on the low end, it could go to 1:1000 - 1:4000 and still make more money them a lot of other sponsor sites. This is off some crappy TGP traffic that doesn't have enough of a SE base... For me it's a "test". If I make another sale or two I'll roll it out onto more sites.

                                        FastSize - It always pisses me off when sponsors say "contact me" to talk about selling your product. PUT IT IN YOUR AFFILIATE SITE!!!! Why isn't there a shit load of text links in there that have been proven to work? Some "sample" adword ads etc. etc. etc. etc. A LOT of affiliates signup and will never, ever contact you. You guys seem to have the experience in selling it, what works and what doesn't. Put the info in your affiliate area so we can all benifit from it.. Sheesh!!

                                            Of course eventually they can get to it, but posting our best tactics doesn't make sense.

                                            Besides, we don't always know everything. It sometimes takes trial and error to help a site convert. Which is why we always try to talk in private, on the phone to help on a more personal level.

                                            Anywhoo let's take a look at your site. TGP is stubborn but there are ways to crack it.

                                                        I knew you'd say that. But here's the thing. You give me all your insite.. and then maybe I eventaully promote the competitor and use the info you told me. In the end your competitor gets the benifit of the info anyway.

                                                        If you put some info on the site that was at least "good" at selling (not your best), then you're on a level playing field and your affiliates can at least promote your product better.

                                                        But what do I know, I don't have a program, I just do promotion/marketing for programs. Or at least try to.

                                                                                Looks like mostly 404 traffic from TGP galleries. Must be tough to sell anything on those hits. Why not put a banner or text link on the bottom of the galleries themselves? Even that I would think would have a better chance of generating sales.

They forget it's all about the bottom line (not talking so much about the thread topic but rather some of the posts in it).

                                                                                                                                                If you're fairly loose in your text links traffic may convert at 1-1200, if you pre-qualify by using stuff such as pricing etc before they get to the site traffic my convert at 1-200 but....which is making you more cash? Just because the ratios are better you'll also be getting less clicks and it could well be that the one with the ratio 6x worse gets 7x more traffic because the link is less qualified. So the crap ratio is actually making you more money. Of course it could also be the other way around but then only you have the ability to check and see.

                                                                                                                                                Obviously crap figures just pulled from the air but it's the principle. For those that worry about ratios (especially other peoples) stop. Work on getting your sales higher - that's NOT always the same thing as getting a better conversion ratio.

                                                                                                                                                                    What you need to know is what you earn per-unique sent to a sponsor.

                                                                                                                                                                    Then calculate how much it costs you to send that click, and subtract it.

                                                                                                                                                                    If you have a positive number, you're doing something right. It doesn't matter if Jimmy HugeCock on GFY gets 1:4 or 1:75000.
