I have a lumbar strain, my lower back hurts like hell. So the doc prescribed me Oxycontin. Jesus.. That shit is really strong. No wonder why some people can get addicted to it..

Oh well, at least it's very effective, I can't feel the pain anymore. It's going to be heaven for the next couple of days.

edit: well thats not really true, all perscription drugs have destroyed many lives but oxy seems next to herion.

I'm on the same combo for a back injury also right now. I find that oxycodone (Percocet) doesn't really do much for me. It takes the edge off the pain a bit, but I couldn't see myself becoming addicted. Perhaps you're on a stronger dose, I believe mine are 3/325 mg.

I guess I should read more closely, oxycodone and oxycontin do not appear to be the same drug.

I'm using oxycontin, it's not percocet. Oxycontin is a time release pill. It does not contain acetaminophen like Percocet. I have the 20mg ones.

I noticed that about a minute after I posted, sorry for the confusion. You must be in some serious pain, I almost considered getting a wheelchair 3 weeks ago I was so bad, but I'm doing much better now.

They had me on Vicodin prior to that. A completely worthless drug in my opinion, it did nothing but make me a bit drowsy.

you will vomit violently before anything near an OD happens...your body has a natural reaction to expel oxycodone before taking too much into the blood stream, pretty cool stuff actually....same with most drugs, you body will violently try and expel substances that it knows are going to be too much for it...if only addicts would learn to read the signs before taking more of their favorite drugs...LOL

The exercises worked miracles for my dad, hope they work out for you.

vicodin ain't that bad, i used to take them for energy actually, but they do different shit to everything...they make me really hyper and talkative

but the acetometphine in those fucking things is crazy, i prefer Norco's....10/325 hydrocodone

Yes, I went in for physical therapy, which I think they referred to as McKenzie therapy. I think the excercises are actually helping get my disc(s) back in order. I'll have my MRI/xray results next week, my doctor was on vacation this week, so I don't know the extent of my injury yet.

Overall, my progress has been good, I can walk relatively well now with a lot less pain. Thanks for asking.

I agree about the acetaminophen, which very few people actually talk about when discussing OD's, etc. Acetaminophen can really screw up your liver with large, prolonged dosages.

A year ago my dad could hardly move around without pain, though I don't think he was as bad as you. Right now he's digging out a pool in his backyard.

Sometimes doctors know what they're talking about. He said when he started listening to everything his doctor told him to do, things got better.

yeah, that shit is horrible...and only 4000mg a day will send you into liver toxicity...which if you are taking regular vicodin, is about 8 pills of the 500mg ones...there are people that have habits of 10-20 pills a day...that shit will TEAR you up

i learned this excellent extraction method called Cold Water Extraction...and when my back acts up and I have to take something in between therapy sessions, I do that...and it extracts at least 80-90% of the acetometaphine out of the pill

As long as you don't crush it up, you'll be fine. Crushing it up makes it all release at once, rather than over a time period as it is intended to do... that's what the people who use it as a drug do.

It has a similar high to Heroin.

Well yea it hits you alot faster and harder snorting it. The name brand oxy didnt burn much at all wasnt bad. The new generics released quite recently are bigger and I believe have alot more filler in them and they burn like hell. Which is a good thing I guess cause it stopped me from snorting them. Not like I did it alot Once a month or so I'll go on a 3-4 day bender.

be very careful which generics you snort up dude...some of the new ones, particularly the 80mg, they are putting microscopic oil granules in them, so when you crush the oil balls explode and you aren't able to absorb the power because it gets coated in oil....you can't see it, but it is happening...they are doing that mainly for people that shoot up, but it still fucks up the powder

Yea I read that somewhere. The ones I get are like yours 20mg, from a cancer patient that doesnt actually need them and makes money off them. BTW oxy is the best painkiller out there Ive tried for actual pain. Its really good.

Frank I just had some discs removed. I know this surgery is the last resort but I could not be happier with the result. Went from working under my desk so I could lay down to being pretty much back to a normal person.

Hydrocodone is not Oxycodone. The only thing potentially dangerous with Vicodin is that they contain acetaminophen. If you take a lot, it might damage your liver. 4000mg a day is the max you can take, after that, the liver can be damaged, leading to a liver failure, and you don't want that.
