    Questions for people who think america is superior

    Now, why is usa so much better than anyone else? Why do you gloat 24/7/365?

    Can someone tell me why I would be better off on a personal level living in the usa compared to say, france, spain or finland?

    Bash away, but I'm seriously intrested if any of you have valid answers.

          Because we're told so by the media and pretty much brainwashed, aka SHEEP. I don't think I'm better than any one of you. Just because we were raised in different cultures surrounded by different beliefs doesn't mean we're better than you or you're better than us.

          The media has us all believing that the USA is a juggernaut of Liberty and Freedom when we're really battling ourselves into financial and economic disaster.

                                                                              Finland has 4 months of very nice weather, and the summers rock. I hate the long, dark and cold winters.
                                                                              Prices are outrageously high and the high taxes don't help it. But it's safe and relatively clean.

                                                                                          im not a US citizen, but if you look at it from the economical point of view, the US is still the superior power in the world.

                                                                                          well, that does not make US people better than anyone else in the world ... and if you look at it in a historical context, it may change again over time (there was a time when France or the UK was the #1). Maybe in 100-200 years China will be the most powerful country on the globe. This stuff is quite dynamic and dont believe that everything will stay the same for all the time. Ya never know.

                                                                                                      This country is as fucked up as any other - we just have fancier stuff to make us look better. It's smoke and mirrors.

                                                                                                      We have poverty, homelessness, fighting in our streets just like many other places that we claim to be better than.

                                                                                                      HighOnAcid put it very well.

                                                                                                      We sit on our fat asses, pointing fingers and making other people wrong and we call it "Patriotism". When much of the time the things we do aren't any better or brighter.

                                                                                                                  I had go play war in Denmark once, if I remember it was daylite for like 20 plus hours per day. So I would guess winter is dark time.

                                                                                                                              Yeah it is. When I used to go to school, I got up and went to school in the dark before the sun rose.. and I got out of school when sun had already set.

IMO USA Is what you make of it. There are a lot of places that prolly is better then the usa but as for myself I have never lived outside the usa. Ive gone to Canada thought that was a awesome place. Everywhere has its ups and downs like Canada has free medical as where the usa don't.

                                                                                                                                                                                              My Mother and brother live in So Cal so I would be close to them as well. No I'm sure there are many places in the US I would be happy to live if I had the money. But I think I will probably buy a house in Thailand and spend the winter months there and the summers in Czech with my wife and child.

If you're poor it would not. However I support my retired Mum and she reckons it's cheaper to live in So Cal then Europe, she's on a middle income bracket.
