I got a few servers at SM, so far so good, it's been 12 months now I think and only 1 incident that required a hard reboot.
Support is rather fast, I always try to call first, sometime they help me right away, sometime when it's busy for them you have to open a trouble ticket.
Originally posted by johndoebob I got my servers at EV1, similiar prices, no setup fees and I'm happy there for quite a long time.
I presently have a couple of servers with EV1. Been fairly happy to date. But have a new project where Server Matrix could be MUCH more cost effective (ie looking at load balancing some 20Mbps boxes).

I dont know what youre gonna do and how your server skills are but keep in mind they are unmanaged. If you want to run 5 boxes with heavy traffic and/or scripts better get a sys admin.
i have a matrixtreme 20 Mbit server for around 3-4 days now.
so far very very good. their support is fast, the server ist fast (but it's cogent - but i don't care)...
if you know how to manage your own server, then this is an awesome deal.

Good tech support almost 24/7 online solved everything always quick for me.If you can't handle to administrate your own server you should go somewhere else tho.

Oh that's not a problem. Did you pay someone to lock up your box or did you do it yourself?
Service and support are great at SM. The billing department is actually helpful too, something you don't see with a lot of datacenters. I've been with them for a year now, I'll never move... I have been spoiled, the network is top notch too.

In one word... "patchy".
Sometimes superb sometimes crap.
Also, people need to understand that EV1 servers are UNMANAGED
so tech support is limited in terms of what they will do for you,
but they're usually quick to respond, even to an e-mail.

EV1, where I currently have 2 boxes, is also unmanaged. I can do some basic admin stuff myself, plus I have a programmer/sys admin who truly knows his shit. So cheap, realiable, unmanaged servers are definitely the way to go for me
