Since it is much more difficult to cross the border now, these illegal immigrants are STAYING in the U.S., with their families, and causing a huge strain on the economy. Increased health costs, education, etc, etc. Not to mention the added tax dollars spent unwisely guarding the borders. When is the Bush plan going to take effect? 2008?

For some reason the U.S. has a strange notion that other people living outside the borders are animals, but once they set foot on our soil they magically become people. With this enlightened view, they are entitled to many of the same rights as citizens.

Keep in mind those who benefit from the cheap labor could give a fuck about the financial strain on the economy. It's not their interest. We live in a capitalist society that is heading fast in the direction of socialism. The basic point I was making is that many people in the U.S. are broke and don't want to pay another .05 for a loaf of bread. They could care less why it's cheaper, just that it is. This is something the goverment weighs when determining enforcment of the borders vs. the economic stability of the country.

I agree it's a fucked up situation, but taking the illegal workers to INS building and honking wouldn't be the answer. Hell, i'm sure we all drive by some part of town everyday where you can find illegal day laborers. I'm sure INS knows exactly where they are too. You don't have to be Colombo to figure it out.

Just my

Well said, but I hardly think he honestly believed he was solving the problem, but instead just having a laugh. Plus it looks fake anyway.
