i bet i have the wierdest eating habbits out of all GFYers

-any sandwich/hamburger/hotdog etc.. i get meat and bread only(except chili for the hotdog, if available with no beans)

-at taco bell i order hard and soft tacos with meat only

-i dont eat ANYTHING that's green - from salad to green beans

-3 ice cubes in my glass of whatever im drinking, no more no less, regardless of the size of the cup

-i drink only one carbonated beverage a week, and im strict about this

-meat and cheese should never mix, ever

I could go on and on, but you guys get the idea.. anyone here got me beat?

Sometimes my g/f calls me "o.c.d. boy" because of my eating habits, and then i hit her in the face with a brick

lol they did, and they tried so hard to get me to eat normally, but i cant

sometimes some food looks so good, like a sub from subway with everything on it, or a nice big caesar salad or something, but when i take a bite its just so nasty and horrible

Okay, here is my weird eating habit.

I don't eat any vegetables except corn and potatoes.

I don't eat Mexican, Chinese, Indian foods.

I don't eat seafood.

I don't eat spicy or barbecue food and sauce.

I won't eat food that has been touched by something that I won
't put in my mouth.

Example: Don't put the pickle beside my hamburger or near it. No I won't pick it off because it leaves an aftertaste.

I take my burgers ¡V cheese and ketchup only.

I only drink purified bottled water.

- Guess that is enough for now

btw, my friends don¡¦t like to go eat with me because I limit where we can go.

(mama spoiled me because I was the baby, so I never got made to eat everything or even taste it) Now at 32, I still won't try certain foods but I am becoming more brave.

seriously. my brother was very fussy. for example, in a spaghetti sauce, he'd pick out even the most miniscule pieces of diced onions. never ate fish, most veggies, eggs and even certain meats. he often went to bed hungry.

I feel you on the three ice cubes thing. It's the perfect amount. Gets your drink cold without taking up too much room.

I can't really compete with your OCD habits but I'm pretty OC myself. My habits are pretty standard:

-Things must be in neat piles on my desk, right angles are a plus.

You're like 15, you're on a road trip vacation with your family, and you stop in at a distant relative's home for a visit. They invite you all to stay for supper, you telling me you're going to be all rude and pull your picky bullshit act?

No way in fucking hell would my parents put up with that.

Personally, when I have total control over what I can have to eat (like when I'm home or at a restaurant), I of course eat what I like most. But sometimes, when you have no control over what's on the table in front of you, for me it comes down to this.... I'm hungry, not choosey. I would rather eat than go hungry. And I would never want to insult someone by going all picky on them at their house when they've been good enough to invite me to share a meal. That's the way I was raised.

I have a few weird habits too

-When i was younger my Italian grandmother got me hooked on Nutella. I now have it every morning on toast and if there is none left in the house, i get pretty MAD.

-I'm addicted to shelled sunflower seeds. I can pop quite a few in my mouth. Keep them to one side of my cheek and then transfer one over one by one, open it and take the seeds out with my tongue. I've acquired the skill now..

-I absolutely HATE HATE HATE cinammon. Just the smell of it literally makes me gag. If i pass by a little bakery in a shopping mall like Saint Cinammon (we have a few in Montreal) I have to run by it or take a different route. I love apple pie but most apple pie is made with cinammon so when I was younger my mom used to make apple pie from scratch with not a speck of cinammon. My dad and I share the exact same cinammon phobia.

-I hate and won't eat anything that lived under water at one point. But I'll eat calamari (???)

-I'll sometimes put stuff on my hotdogs and hamburgers but sometimes I like to leave em plain because I feel like all the condiments are just overpowering the meat.

-I will eat raw carrots but not cooked..They are GROSS cooked.

-I still cut my spaghetti. When i try to be a big girl and NOT cut it, I either A) get really impatient with rolling it or B) choke.

-I drink Pepsi, not Coke. There IS a difference

There are so many more and I'm sure my friends and boyfriend would be able to come up with some but I can't remember at the moment.

Okay I'll tell you mine.

Ketchup -- hate it. Don't even like it on the table in front of me. Ug. BUT... since ketchup was never the main course or even a side-dish in any meal at our house, it was a non-issue.

Prunes -- don't like the smell or care for the taste of them. BUT.... if times were tough and all I could find to eat were prunes, I'd probably eat them.

Cottage Cheese --- I call it "creamed cardboard".... I prefer putting feta and ricotta in my lasagna instead of cottage cheese... but again, if there was nothing else to eat, like say, during a hurricane, no stores open etc.... I would eat it.

I will pretty much eat anything else. I LOVE seafood, LOVE barbecued anything dripping with meat juice and slathered with spicey barbecue sauce, LOVE pasta with tons of lean ground beef and cheese and veggies..... I love it all baby. FOOD ROCKS!!!

I put maple syrup on my scrambled eggs. When I met my bf and he saw me do this he freaked out. He thought it was the weirdest thing. I didn't know otherwise because my whole family does it.

Does anyone else do this?

Well, sort of. If you're having pancakes, sausages, and eggs.... and you pour syrup on your pancakes (like most normal people do), the syrup tends to run into your eggs and sausages. I can see where someone would, from that, come to like maple syrup on their eggs. I do, and I especially like it on the sausages.

That's not all that weird.

ill agree with you on that, syrup tastes good on basically anything breakfast related (except stuff like cereal)

kind of like at thanksgiving how putting gravy on everything tastes good

hehe thanks I pour syrup when I have eggs alone though. I've eaten pancakes like 3 times in my life. I'd have to ask my mom to see where this habit came from. I'm sure it goes way back to my grandparents. Just like my dad eating his toast dipped in evaporated (condensed) milk.
