maybe you should contact the phone company just to make sure no-one else has access to your new line.. you certainly don't want a huge bill from LD or anything if someone does have it

It once happened to me, too; once the police arrived, they determined that my cleaning lady must have somehow pressed the 911 combination as she was dusting off the phone.

It's nice to know that they follow-up all calls to 911!

One of the last things an installer does after a new line hookup is call 911 to verify location.

So you would have to of had the service turned on with out a telco person at your house/apt. Of course this happens often these days
