    Newby Content Shooter Needs Advice...

    Hey,
Need some friendly advice, please. It's MUCH appreciated
I started shooting content a couple of months back.
Initially, I showed samples to brokers and to date 8 or 9 of them have it, including Lace, Web and Adult Legal etc.
    The quality is exceptionally high.

The problem is... they aren't moving it...
It's buried in the archives after 30 days and they don't really care WHAT they sell as long as something sells...
It's apparent, that when they DO sell, (*and it HAS been selling a little), it's going to go in dribs and drabs...
So it's come to pass that I either need to shoot custom or find a strong, select number of webmasters that will keep buying on a steady basis. The Brokers ASSURE me that the quality is some of the BEST they've seen, and I get the same reviews all the time.
Still, I need to take the bull by the horns and get this in front of people who know PEOPLE.
    Any thoughts?

    Regards,
    John Sharpe/Sharpeshots

Well, the most obvious thought is to invest the time and money necessary to launch your own online store. Thus, you are in control of letting the world know about your superior quality and control your own destiny.

I just launched my site and content provider biz. and my site has been up for about a month or so and it feels wonderful being self-empowered and not relying on the good wishes of brokers who have other motivations as you say. I believe that despite the investment and related headaches that are still swirling in my head, in the final analysis, this has been the better move for me than using brokers exclusively.

If you?re seriously going to be in content business you need to establish own online store. We are here about 3 years and doing business with 7 brokers. Resume: we got 80% of revenue from own store and another 20% from all brokers. We had and have a long time of waiting before they list our products too. 30 days is not the limit

You might want to check out this board:

They would probably have more insight from a photographers point of view.
