I settle a debt for someone and I am still getting shit...what should I do?

I had an issue come up recently that I felt bad for the person involved, so, on their word I settled the debt in full for them (someone elses debt, which in turn, cleared my name.), giving them 400.00 of my own money. The person in question gave their word that if it was all settled, they would drop it and be my biggest supporter, yet they go on and on with their private campagine to defame me and make false accusations about me and my business.

I could care less about the 400.00. No biggie, but I do care about making a deal and them going back on it. If it was me making the deal and I did not follow through, I would be expected to refund the money and make good on whatever I agreed to do, why is it different for them?

Should they be held to a different standard then me? Should I post the icq logs? I mean its only $400.00, should I let it go and just always know that they prolly just needed the cash?

Don't really know what to do here.

It's all a bit too confusing, you could have just posted a pic of yourself with gfy on the background to clear it out, or take a more believable approach to the situation.

But it's the same old jeff style, going out of topic instead of putting out the fire, the 'shooting manic is perfection jeff' thread is almost exactly like some of the old ones, with jeff actively bumping them and all, the lensman's ipod thread comes to mind, and several others.

Then paying someone else's debt doesn't make much sense or help to the situation/give more credibility at all imho
