The billing model is not deceptive at all. First of all, most everyone complaining about the possibility sends to a program that has 1-3 cross sells (which are FAR more deceptive than this) which also include one click billings on the success page that make the surfer think they are going to the members area, in reality, they are being charged yet another time.
EMX has ZERO cross sells - the billing model is simple. You are signing up for a free account. That account is not a timed trial that has to be cancelled before a certain time or it will rebill. Its an account that allows extended preview of the database and 5 free preview clips. When the customer downloads and views a movie they activate their membership (this is in the terms and is disclosed CLEARLY on the credit card page).
This program can pay $28 for a lot of reasons, screwing consumers is NOT one of them. There is no bait and switch, no multiple billings, and no non disclosed deceptive practices.Comment

fusion - the account set up is FREE. With that you recieve extended preview to the DB as well as free sample clips. You activate your membership when you download and view the DRMed clips.
Its similar to some cam programs where the account set up is FREE, you aren't charged anything and won't be UNTIL you chat with a girl - at which time you pay a minutely fee. This, however, is not a minutely fee, its the activation of a subscription and its a WILLING act of the customer. Nothing is forced upon them and there is no free trial account to cancel that will auto renew. Pretty straight forward stuff...Comment

above when I mention clips twice - the free sample clips are absolutely free, when you download and view the DRMed SCENES (didn't want confusion there) then you activate your membership to paying.

As for the rest, I've responded to all the email I've gotten so far this morning with some great feedback guys, keep it up and we'll keep making improvements on the site builder and the functionality of the webmaster tools.

I'd love to see a recurring % paid instead of $28 - possibly? And with my affiliate code embedded in each movie they download, so if they re-activate again later I'd get credit as well. I think a lot more people would push such a system if the payout was more balanced.
