As a foreigner, albeit a neighbour, I ask what is the greater casuality: the 1,000 dead soldiers, or the US Constitution?
It seems I hold Jefferson in much greater esteem than Americans do.

There is clearly some "imbalance" in talking about some US troops and the many thousands of people killed in Iraq.
It's almost like saying a guy killed in a road accident should be "news" - while 10,000 - 15,000 have had bombs dumped on them and that is "not news".
