                          I know for a fact his spinal column was severed when, while shark hunting, he was bitten in half by a great white shark. Through the miracle of micro surgery, the doctors were able to sew his body back together after a fisherman found his torso in the belly of one of his catches.

                          It's an amazing story and it makes me weep with joy every time he tells it to me (which is A LOT after he's had a few cocktails.....oy).

                                          No, this isn't true. Your friend is an idiot. I'm 21, I wasn't even born yet. My dad was just a little guy.

                                          Just to set the record straight with all the idiots, I'll tell you the story. And Peaches, you said it best, when I drink I DO tell stories. The shark story was only constructed to impress you. I was trying to get some good home cooking out of you but then later realized you don't like to cook!

                                          About 8-9 years ago my uncle owned a small swimming pool that he let kids around the block use in the summer to keep out of trouble and stay cool. It was small but decent sized, there were usually around 20 kids around at all times. All the parents got together and decided there needed to be some organized supervision, so they all pooled some money together and hired us older kids to watch the little ones and make sure they were safe.

                                          One day I was on duty and a couple new kids came around. No big deal, the kids are always bringing friends in. As I was watching the kids I noticed that one of the new kids went down but never came up, he was probably about 6. I walked over to the side of the pool to make sure he was ok and found him laying on the bottom of the pool.

                                          That's when I made the biggest mistake of my life. Not thinking, I dove in head first with high force. This has never happened before so I was kind of freaked out. As my whole body quickly submerged in the water I realized that the cement bottom was coming at me way too quickly. I couldn't stop, couldn't slow down. I held my hands out and hoped for the best.

                                          Both wrists broke. Fractured skull. And two broken vertebrae in my neck.

                                          A couple of the older kids noticed something was going on and pulled up the 6 year old and me. He was fine after CPR. I wasn't.
