Sometimes if I type a big chunk of text the person I'm talking to can't see it! Really annoying!!

I use Adium ( Mac ) - but my other 2 ICQ numbers don't have this problem.

could there be an issue with the server this number is on?

Anyone else have related issues?

I think adiums fucked lately, cause you describe exactly how I feel often while trying to chat on it.

Seems like people aren't getting messages, or links .. or if they do they're all jumbled up.
Also my windows don't seem to be flashing lately and it's pissing people off cause they think I'm ignoring them midway through conversation.

I have had similar issues. ICQ seems to have become more unstable as of late, I personally prefer skype...

i've been getting 1 of my icq numbers keeps reconnecting causing me to be banned for 10 minutes, keeps going.... pissing me off

Every time ICQ gives me a problem, I re-install it and it usually fixes it!

I've never had a problem, but we use Trillian for our ICQ and all other instant messengers. It seems everyone uses a different one.

With the latest version of ICQ, it will only let me see my friends as numbers, Is there a way to change that so I can see their names also?

ICQ has been a sack of rotting rhino dongs lately. I've had a lot of random missed conversations and messages since the last update they sent out for ICQ6. I've got way too many contacts to drop back to ICQ pro so I am shafted.

I used to be a huge ICQ fan until AOL bought it and fucked it all up. It would be nice if we as an industry switched over to MSN, Skype or Yahoo.

Every program has its failings but nothing seems to fail better than ICQ lately.

Hey Thurbs....that and then some....

Portions of my list vanish, history is incomplete....hence my migration (inclusion) of Yahoo IM.

My Vector Linux home system never has a problem: it offer ICQ, Yahoo and MSN together.

But I never use MSN because it's owned by The Devil. Aka Satan. Aka yucky.

Skype isn't a better alternative also.
If your internet speed is kinda low and changing it may take up to 20 minutes for the other person to receive your message.

I am using QIP and don't have problems also.
Maybe you should change your ICQ client. It could solve the problem ;)

I upgraded recently and half the time ICQ just freezes up whenever anyone messages me. It's annoying as fuck.

yes sometimes window gets frozen and the newest thing who pissed me off was when 400 contacts disappeared without any reason from my list

I hate ICQ because I need it
