Natural disasters are becoming more common and more damaging. We put more and more stress on ol' mother earth trying to produce more food. A really depressing book is "A Short History of Progress"
I also fully expect a world war to develop. Over oil. Supply is exceeding demand and demand is going up faster than supply can increase.
A country like Saudi Arabia could go fundie, and then turn off the oil.
The US would invade to instill democracy.
Or it could be that China buys oil production and diverts production currently going to the US, to China. They are taking large equity stakes in oil production companies. Very recently in Canada.
Makes me want to enjoy life now, and it makes me glad I did not have children.
