turn off your hardware accelleration, then print screen.

Personnaly I use Light Allow media player. It allows you to push F12 during a playback and saves a frame capture as a .bmp file.

Search for VirtualDub 1.3c, that is last mod with wmv support

I've just found that BSPlayer at www.bsplayer.org can do frame captures too. And there's a free version available.

Media Player Classic, looks like windows media player 6.4 (the old one) but is full of really nice features.
