Wow... this thread got interesting.
At first I'm like "oh shit please don't fire some single mother of 4 or whatever over this" but then I read that post from empress about idiocy and expressing themselves, deserving respect, and understanding the boards...
Man this is totally not aimed at anyone but the shit with off the street newbies actually representing companies and trying to drive traffic to their company's websites is unreal lately.
Go do a search for like any of the reps from any company you can think of that got hired within say the last 6 months to a year. They shouldnt' be making more than they would if they had a fucking paper route in my opinion.
It's not their fault thought at all I'm not trying to say that. It's just so hard for them now cuz it's crucial to know who's who and who is tight with who and who buys what or leases what from who and bills with whoever and history and politics...

I agree ...... it is hard to hire people these days as sales and marketing reps cuase it is rare you find some one that is good who is not already working with a company. I think it would do a lot of good for both them and your buisness if they were trained up about things within the industry before they started posting. Get them doing TGP galleries or submitting for a while so they actually have some real understanding of how the industry works and then they will be able to relate to the people they are talking to on the boards.
One or two board whores who actually know the industry will go a lot further than a bunch that just annoy people.Comment

I have a different department that does the TGP/MGP submissions. There are definitely people who post a lot on GFY and have a good idea of this business and buying their sigs could be probably better. But then again, the filipino guys and girls probably earn the same for being a rep. as other people would get just for their sigs or even less.
BTW I see Niche Pay Pete KT above... that reminds me that there are also lots of people with Niche Pay in their names... I guess it's a new trend to put the company's names into nicknames for branding.
When it comes to NichePay - StuarttD would be sufficient, he adds really a lot to this board so he brings them probably most business with his posts.

It has more to do with working with someone from the ground up. Teaching them what our company does and where we could benifit others. Not as much as just buying a sig for views.

Bumping old threads isn't on the rules page or anything and I didn't really mean to make a huge issue out of it. I just wanted your posters to know that it's irritating people and I was getting complaints on icq so I thought just a little heads up for them will make them chill out a little before making further asses out of themselves. That's the issue at hand, not just speaking it, but understanding it within the context of the discussion.
The simple fact is this is a very difficult business that entails a lot of subtelties when it comes to language. Why? Because we are advertisers and a lot of our customers speak english as a first language, and most if not all of the rest speak it as a second language.
We as a group, an industry spend hours upon hours "tweakin" text, ad copy whatever you want to call it to maximize conversions, SE placement etc.
So with that in mind, if you want to hire "marketing" people who speak the language, but fail to understand it in all it's subtleties then good luck with that.

As far as having trouble with outsourced employees out of the philippines.
Yeah I dealt with the issue myself. Had a filipinio partner here in Vegas with a crew out of Angeles city, here and Los Angeles and even with hands on training, face to face training after 6 months I learned a lot about trying to teach people how to design for adult.
You either get it or you don't.
I can spot outsourced work a mile away.
#1 the quality.
Ranged from fucking absolutely fantastic, to downright horrible.
But the ratio was something like 1 out of 10 were great, the rest were borderline awful.
The color schemes used clash as well.
#2 the overuse of graphics to hide their lack of sales skills, or understanding of flow when it comes to ad copy.
#3 THE ENGRISH
Bad english is fine if you are submitting your own galleries, but if I want to use an FHG from a company based out of the US I don't wanna see shit like...

#4 Theft.
And as evidenced by a lot of threads here on GFY and an issue I suffered from some of our own designers..because most cannot quite grasp the concept fo designing for adult they go out and steal concepts.
Not just part of them the entire concept down to the HTML.
I had to set up a system in place to overly analyze each and every design to ensure that this would not happen, and after threats of termination if it did they still tried to get by with it.
In the end what I learned was it was not worth it.
It was not worth my reputation to save a few $'s and try to build up a business I built up on hours upon hours of hard work.
I think in the end many US companies will come to understand this as well.
Sure if you want to be able to throw out a new site a week along with 200+ FHG's no cheaper way to do it than finding someone in the PI.
But my question once again is it better to have 1 high quality converting site or 10 mediocre sites?
