We are gonna need all the luck we can get! If you wanted to leave its almost too late. The roads out are like a parking lot right now! Its gonna be crazy. I plan on lugging my mattress in my closet and spending all night Saturday night in there!

First and Foremost, Thank you all for your best wishes... It's actually an eerie feeling out there... City streets of miami, are quiet down town... Gov't offices are due to sut down @ 2pm EST. I was @ the hardware store today and the results are that of some male talent, NO WOOD! Now, for those of you that don't know Miami, the general population sucks, rude and cold people down here, but today @ the grocery store people had a generous and kind demeanor.. Probably b/c they think they are going to die, and need to get in good with the BIG GUY upstairs (not lensman, although we love him, ha ha)... The highways are packed, but we're sticking it out here, go my supplies, shutting down the systems tomorrow, and stuffing them in storage... My bldg was built in 1925 and has sustained pummeling in the past, so I'm not really concerned.. The Media is REALLY hyping it up, using terms like STRIKE POINT, as opposed to land fall. I think it's a big ploy to boost commerce here in this toilet. (You can tell I love it here) The real worry is after the storm, downed powerlines, and idiots going outside, stepping in puddles, and ZAP! Also, looting becomes a concern... There was two arrests on my block last night of people stalking around, probably scoping out who's leaving... I think Miami is not going to get the Brunt of it, but I feel bad for those more north of me... Again, THANK YOU fellow GFYers for your supporting comments... Take care all...

That is soooo sweet, thanks!!! I'm originally from Belfast, N. Ire. so I try to get over in your neck of the woods @ least once every two years or so... Might take you up on that if we ever go over there to shoot..

I've been to Ireland two weeks ago and have to tell you very very beautiful scenery, nature..., people are very nice, I had a great time....and I am serious if you need some place to stay, no problem, take care there and stay safe!

I will be praying for everyone there! I gew up in Florida and much of my family and friends are there. Most of which have already evacuated. I feel so helpless as I sit here on the total opposite coast in San Diego and the weather is perfect today while my 75 year old grandmother is helping to board up windows and prepare for the worst. If I could trade places with her I would do it a heartbeat. I feel for all Floridians right now! I do not think I will get a good nights rest until this whole thing is over and I know that everyone is ok! My mother who doesn't even drink said she is going to get drunk so if anything happens she won't feel it! She is silly!

Nah, I got something special for their ass.... I'm going to video local footage, as much as I can anyway, of the storm in our neighborhood, aftermath footage etc... So I'll post something up here once all is said and done... BTW if anyone knows how to put a pic in a post, please clue me into it... I'm still a bit green in GFY... Goodluck Christy and anyone else that decided to stay!!! This one is going to be bad! My family and I flew out this morning, we are in MN. I had no power for 6 days after the last one...this one is going to be much worse!
