Well, I had used Verotel for over 2 years before switching just recently to Glo-bill as my primary processor. Not because my experience with Verotel was bad... My payouts were always on time and accurate, I just needed a processor with a more comprehensive affiliate program. (Verotel's affiliate program only allows up to 50% payout to affiliates, no bonuses, etc)
Now, yesterday, I log in to my Verotel stats (almost all of my current rebills are with them)
and I have over $3000 in chargebacks and fees, making my mid-month payout from them VERY VERY short.

WTF?!?!?

For those who have never used Verotel, as a webmaster you get all your transactions emailed to you real-time, including chargeback transactions and credits. I also get a daily data file to import into an Excel spreadsheet.
According to all of these, my chargebacks from 4/1/2002 to the present date are $89.90. So where are they getting these inflated numbers?

My past history with them has been a chargeback ratio of less than 2% --- this is for 2 YEARS+ of being a customer of theirs.

Called them at 5am (because there is no one available during US business hours)

APPARENTLY, the chargebacks are all 900 chargebacks, plus $15 fee on each one.

As I said before, I have used Verotel for over 2 years... and suddenly 80% of my 900 calls for Jan-April charge back?? I don't think so.

What I think happened is they noticed that I no longer use them as my primary processor and decided to recoup their losses from me in a very suspect way.

This is utter B.S.! I have backed Verotel in the past, but no longer... Anyone thinking about using them, listen to me and to the others here that have complaints about their service. It doesn't matter whether you're small fry or a big fish... doesn't matter if your track record has been stellar for years... If they decide you're a target for their shady practices - then you're screwed. And because of their location, they are untouchable.

I just have to eat the loss and go on... but hopefully I can help someone else not make the same mistake.... sigh

Sigh. Thank the gods for sponsor income, AVS income and my growing Glo-bill revenue. I'd be up sh1t creek if I had all my eggs in one basket.
