Ahhh, the fallacy of the opt-in list for sale!

Let's see, we have a list that's being sold multiple times by Bullseye/MikeChangs, who may just have been one of many middlemen that purchased it from the guy above him. In fact, there's even a good chance that the fellow above Bullseye/MikeChangs is simply ANOTHER middeman in a whole chain of middlemen.

Anyway, one can just take it for granted that there's a lot of copies of this list out there in various hands. OK?

Now, let's suppose the original listing actually was legitimate. For that to be true, two conditions have to be met- 1.) the list has to be double opt-in (otherwise, there's going to be bogus entries) and 2.) there has to be a way to opt-out of the listing.

And, as soon as we have a list that's being sold multiple times, condition #2 no longer holds. When Bullseye/MikeChangs says "and give them a way to remove them selves from lists, do that and youl be fine", he lies. Unless there's some way for InsaneMidget to contact him with all his opt-outs, have them passed up to the fellow above him, who then distributes them to the others that he sold to, etc, etc.

That's what's meant by a list "getting dirty": About the 200th time someone gets an unwanted e-mail in an otherwise quiet account, someone's gonna' get pissed. That's why a proxy is recommended: When enough people start getting pissed, they begin complaining and complaints are _very effective_ if the origin can be traced.

Bottom line, stay away from opt-in lists for sale. There's no such thing. It's a lie to sucker newbies out of their money and into more trouble than they can imagine.
