Whats your problem? at least he's doing something about it...
Btw, if the sponsor doesn't take any action against the spamming affiliate, be sure to drop in a complaint on the FTC web site. They do follow up on these, and unless more sponsors feel like paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines they will start taking spam complaints more seriously.
